Dr. Dennis Selig
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Selig acquired a Bachelor of Science in 1972 and a DVM degree in 1981, both from LSU. Upon graduating in 1972, he enlisted in the Navy, served aboard the USS America and USS Nimitz, and then transitioned into the Naval Reserves. He enjoyed his Naval Reserve experiences and, after a total of 22 years of service, retired as a Navy Captain. Dr. Selig opened Northwood Hills Animal Hospital in 1984 and has enjoyed serving this community for over 35 years.
He is blessed with five children and eight grandchildren. His hobbies include traveling, fishing, watching and attending college football games, and photography. Dr. Selig lives at the beckoning of a cat named Chester.
Dr. Julie Parks
Tallie is new to the Northwood Hills Animal Hospital family. She was born and raised in north Louisiana. She recently relocated to south Mississippi. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has been in the veterinary industry for a few years. She has a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Kate. She enjoys horseback riding and anything to do with cows!
Veterinary Assistant / Groomer
Nissa has worked in the veterinary and grooming industry for 22 years and has been with Northwood Hills for 15 of those years in her dream job as a vet assistant and groomer. She enjoys outdoor hobbies including four-wheeling and fishing. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, both two- and four-legged.
Client Services Representative / Veterinary Assistant
Wendy was born and raised in central Mississippi. Ever since she was a young child, she has had a love for animals. In 2008, Wendy went to work at a spay-neuter clinic in Pearl, MS as a veterinary technician. She knew as soon as she started that she was in the right field of work. In 2015, she moved to Gulfport and started at Northwood Hills Animal Hospital. She currently has a cute pit bull named Bully and a ball of energy English Bulldog named Lola. In her free time, she enjoys crafting and outdoor activities.
Kayla graduated from the Mississippi State University Veterinary Technology program in 2018. She has been part of the Northwood Hills Animal Hospital Family for one year. She relocated to the coast after meeting her husband at MSU. She has two female Siberian Huskies and spends any extra time she has at the dog park.
Client Service Representative
Rachel is from Wiggins, MS and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She enjoys reading, playing video games, and gardening. She has one dog named Sophie, who loves walks, playing with toys, and snuggling.
